Daniele Gatti and Valery Gergiev have withdrawn from one concert each of their respective CSO subscription weeks in April because of scheduling conflicts. Leonard Slatkin will step in for both conductors.
Gatti’s CSO performances of Mahler’s Sixth Symphony will be April 21 and 22, with Slatkin completing the subscription run April 26.
Gergiev leads the CSO in Stravinsky’s “Petrushka” and Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2 on April 28 and 29, with Slatkin taking over the same program April 30.
Also, mezzo-soprano Anna Larsson has withdrawn as soloist in Mahler’s “Songs of a Wayfarer,” which she was to have sung with Daniel Barenboim and the CSO May 26-28. Larsson is expecting a child and is unable to travel. She will be replaced by baritone Peter Mattei.
