Beloved husband of the late Jeanne Kavanaugh, nee Warner; loving father of Dick (Geri), Tom (Cheryl), Patricia Kavanaugh, John (Pat) Kavanaugh, Jeanne Kavanaugh, Margo (Barry Potekin) Kavanaugh, Cathy (Mike) Brennan, and the late Mary Jo Berg, Michael Kavanaugh and Mary Elizabeth; proud grandfather of Kevin, Karen, Jennifer, Jessica, Jo Ann, John, Kerry, Tom, Matthew, Alan, Randi, Bridget, Michael, and the late Katie; great-grandfather of Cameron, Colin, Katelyn and Jack; dear brother of Rev. Thomas Kavanaugh; a friend of Bill W. for over 50 years; and longtime companion of Virginia Rzepka. Served as an Athletic Specialist in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
