William S. “Bill” Ziegler, 87, of Tampa, FL, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at Westchester Gardens. As a young man Bill worked at General Steel Casting Co. in his native Granite City, IL. He started his insurance career with the Bassett Agency there and then joined the Aspegren Insurance Agency working in Life and Casualty Insurance and also Mortgage Guarantee Insurance. Bill was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table awarded by the National Association of Life Underwriters. He became a Life Member in 1979. He was the top Aspegren producer for Ohio National Life and gave 50 years service. Bill was a member of Incarnation Catholic Church, Tampa and was a member of the Naperville Country Club, The Saddlebrook Resort, and served on the board at Hunters Green Country Club. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Elks Club and K. of C. in Joliet, IL. He loved to play golf. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Marion; sons, W.C. “Skip” Ziegler of McKinney, TX and John P. (Mary Carol) Ziegler of Elmwood Park, IL; stepsons, Thomas B. (Judy) Theobald of Naperville, IL and Michael J. Theobald of Scottsdale, AZ; stepdaughter, Maureen A. Theobald of Pinetop, AZ; brother, Wayne (Nancy) Ziegler of Marina, CA; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Evelyn and a son, James Dale. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, Feb. 21, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Tampa, FL.
