John L. Palkovitz, 73, of Coleridge Ct. in Palm Coast, FL. Born in Chicago previously of Orland Park. John retired in 1996 after 34 years as the manager of Tools and Parts for Central Steel and Wire in Chicago. He was a former member of the U.S. Navy Reserve who just enjoyed tinkering around the house. He is survived by his wife Patricia, whom in two weeks, would be married 50 years and their three children: John J. and his wife Barbara of Lockport, Michael J. and his wife Amy of Minocqua, WI and Carol J. Miller and her husband Bob of Chicago. He is also survived by a brother Joseph of Homer Glen and a sister Rose Dudek of Tinley Park; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Visitation Tuesday 2 to 9 p.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 4950 W. 79th St., Burbank. Interment private.
