Erwin E. Klug, age 83, of Elkhorn, formerly of Chicago; died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at Holton Manor Nursing Home, Elkhorn. He was born Sept. 11, 1921 in Chicago. The son of Charles and Annette Klug. He married Shirley Boske in Chicago in 1948. She preceded him in death April 26, 2000. Erwin was a longtime member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Chicago, and most recently a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, WI. He was a longtime resident of Chicago, retiring to Elkhorn, WI. in 1991. Erwin had been a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and served during WWII. Survivors include children; Jim (Kathy) Klug of Tinley Park, IL., Cindy (Gil) Schmidt of Elkhorn, WI., Tom (Olga) Klug of Kenosha, WI.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (JoAnn) Klug of Chicago. He was preceded in death by one sister Mildred, and one brother Raymond. The Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkhorn with Rev. Douglas Demlow officiating. Burial will be at Bethania Cemetery, 7701 S. Archer, Justice, IL., where a service in the cemetery chapter will be Saturday at 1 p.m. Visitation will be at The Betts Funeral Home, 103 E. Rockwell St., Elkhorn, WI., Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
