– Fiat S.p.A. says it will buy the Maserati sports car brand from Ferrari. Fiat is buying Maserati to gain technology to help develop its premium brand, Alfa Romeo. Maserati was founded in 1914 and acquired by Fiat in 1993. Ferrari took ownership of Maserati in 1999, and the Fiat group has a 56 percent stake in Ferrari.
– Honda will be come the first import brand to sponsor the Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show in Las Vegas this fall. The SEMA show is devoted to aftermarket equipment that consumers purchase to dress up their vehicles. The November event draws more than 100,000 industry representatives.
