A feud between 50 Cent and his rap protege The Game boiled over into harsh words and violence Monday and a stunning proclamation by Fitty: The Game is out of G-Unit.
Fitty announced during a radio interview at New York’s Hot 97 that he was kicking The Game out of the rap clique because he was disloyal. Then, in a clash of each rapper’s entourages outside the radio station, a man was shot in the leg, police told The AP.
Here’s what happened:
– The Game gave interviews on Hot 97 earlier Monday evening and on Saturday, and here’s the gist: Not only is The Game staying out of 50’s arguments with other rappers, but he may even make a song with Fitty’s rival, Nas. “I ain’t gonna turn on my friends, and Nas is one of my friends, and Jada’s (rapper Jadakiss) a homie. 50’s beef is 50’s beef, and I really don’t know where all this stems from.”
– The Game also denied Fitty’s claims in Vibe magazine that Fitty authored as many as six tracks on The Game’s debut CD, “The Documentary,” and persuaded label Interscope not to drop him.
– At Hot 97, 50 Cent reconfirmed his role in The Game’s rise to fame: “Every record he’s selling is based on me being on his record with him.” He also advised The Game to stop saying, “G-Unit,” mtv.com reports. “He thinks he’s doing me a favor when he says that.”
