Four men have been charged in the slaying of an American nun who worked to defend poor rainforest communities, court officials said Tuesday.

Rayfran Neves Salles allegedly fired the six shots that killed Dorothy Stang, 73. Clodoaldo Batista was charged as an accomplice. Two others–Amair Feijoli and Vitalmiro Moura–were charged with homicide.

Feijoli is accused of hiring the two gunmen, and Moura, a fugitive rancher, is charged with ordering the Feb, 12 killing.
