– General Motors is hiring Kroymans Corp. to establish a European network of at least 50 Hummer dealerships as U.S. sales of the military-inspired vehicles fall for a second straight year. Kroymans distributes Cadillac vehicles and Chevrolet Corvette sports cars in Europe.

– Volkswagen will extend warranty protection for the use of biodiesel blend fuel in its U.S. diesel automobiles. The warranties will cover cars with engines that burn diesel fuel blended with up to 5 percent of a renewable resource such as soybean oil. The decision is the result of a research agreement between Volkswagen and Archer Daniels Midland Co. The companies also are testing a blend using 20 percent biodiesel.

– Nissan Motor Co. is opening a $14 million design center design center in Farmington Hills, Mich. The studio will serve as a sister facility to a 70-person design studio in San Diego. The 50,912-square-foot studio will generally design production cars, not concepts.
