I’m tired of reading others pontificate on the use of steroids in baseball. While it’s great to have an opinion, one should offer a solution at the same time. The gold-medal standard for “enhancement” is shared by track and field and cycling. Each of these sports has stringent testing requirements, and anyone found to be using drugs during the testing period (or evidence of same before the test) is immediately stripped of his or her records. We cannot erase records by Mark McGwire or Barry Bonds for two simple reasons: 1) They were not illegal at the time they set their records; 2) Even if they were illegal, there is no evidence that they used at that time.
