Fans of ABC’s hit show “Lost” are reeling after the death of Boone on Wednesday’s episode.
So is Ian Somerhalder, the actor who played the trust-fund baby stranded with his sister. He tells Entertainment Weekly this week that the news was “pretty devastating.”
“Thank God I already had four glasses of really good pinot in me,” he said. “The week before I got the call, I started looking for a house in Hawaii,” where the show is filmed.
“Now I’m looking for a house in Venice Beach.”
The show’s producers told USA Today that the death will lead to a major showdown–and other surprises–in the season finale airing May 18 and 25. And, said exec producer Damon Lindelof, “that’s not to say Boone is the only character who dies this season.”
As for Somerhalder, ABC is easing his pain. He has a deal for a new series next year and will star in the indie film “The Breed,” Variety reports. The movie will land him in familiar territory: He plays a man marooned–this time with his brother–on a strange island crawling with super-intelligent dogs.
