So finding Jesus is now passing as a joke? It is if you’re Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan.
Confused? Here’s a recap: Keenan said on a Tool fan site that “some recent events have led me to the rediscovery of Jesus. … Tool will need to take the back seat.”
Coming on the heels of former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch’s announcement that he was quitting his band to rededicate his life to Christianity, a pattern seemed to be forming.
But on a Tool Web site Thursday, Keenan let the world in on his joke, and he told MTV: “I was actually quite surprised people bought it. Especially considering most of the subject matter of my work.”
