This is regarding “Enlistment drought spurs new strategies; Possible recruits wary of being sent to war” (Page 1, March 31). I read this article with great interest. The tone of the article seems to be one of bafflement over the idea, but I believe the young people and their parents make it quite clear why they’re not jumping to join the armed forces today: They aren’t interested in sacrificing themselves or their children for an unjust, immoral war we shouldn’t be waging.

Really it’s very simple.
