A reader complained about the coverage of Pope John Paul II’s death.
I do understand what he’s saying and perhaps there was, is and will be too much.
This pope, however, was the leader of more than a billion Catholics. This is larger than most countries in the world.
And, as a man, he meant much to so many, many more than simply 1 billion Catholics.
I think he deserves the coverage (although he would have disagreed).
And I think the world deserves the coverage.
