Clarence “Butch” Granger, 73, born April 21, 1931. Beloved husband of the late Eileen, nee Dewan; loving father of Patricia (Joseph) Mc Donnell, Margaret (Christopher, CFD) Koster, Peter Granger (City of Chicago Local #150) and Pamela Granger (CPD-TCA); cherished grandfather (Papa) to Sandra (Michael) La Gioia, Erik, Daniel and Connor Koster, Amber and Eileen Granger; adored great-grandfather to Vincent, Danielle and Joseph La Gioia; devoted son of the late James and Anna, nee Kaseska, Granger; dear brother of Annamay (Frances) Mann; kind brother-in-law of the late William (Mary) Dewan, Francis (Donald) Gunderson and James Dewan; fond uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Friday 9:45 a.m. from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 4950 W. 79th St., Burbank to St. Bede the Venerable Church. Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment private. Retired Illinois State Fire Marshall, Division of Arson Investigation. Retired Chicago Fire Department, Local #2 IAFF. USAR-85th DIV/MTC, Sgt. Maj., member of Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, Illinois State Arson Investigators Association, International Association of Arson Investigators, Metro Fire Chiefs, Du Page County Fire Chiefs, South Suburban Fire Chiefs, Fire Investigation Strike Force, Illinois Sheriff’s and Illinois Police Associations. Life member of VFW, Fraternal Order of Police-Lodge #120, American Legion and AMVETS. Member of St. Bede the Venerable Holy Name Society, Church Council and Senior Citizen Group. Clarence was very dedicated to the people of Chicago and Illinois throughout his career on the Chicago Fire Department and as an Illinois State Fire Investigator.
