Thailand’s Songkran Festival (also known as the water festival, associated with the change from “old” to “new” on the lunar calendar) is a time of renewal and cleansing. Refresh yourself at VTK through Friday with festive foods, a special photo exhibit by Varakan Ten Tipprara, and costumed Thai dancers and musicians from the Academy of Thai Classical Music of Wat Dhammaram. Look for tamarind-glazed beef ribs ($5.95), sesame shrimp toast ($6.95), coconut-milk poached halibut ($19.95) and roasted lemongrass chicken ($17.95). There’s also a three-course, fixed-price menu with a la carte selections ($24.95). Plus, VTK’s giving away a family-style dinner for 30. Be sure to eat up: A portion of the proceeds goes toward tsunami relief. 6 W. Hubbard St. 312-644-8664.
