James E. Washington, age 69, died April 16, 2005. Beloved husband of 30 years to Sandra A. Washington; loving father of Kim Lianne and James E. Washington III; cherished grandfather of Kyle and great-grandfather of Brooklyn; fond brother of John Wanza Jr.; loving nephew of aunts, Florence C. Hall-Gray, Esther Brown, Mary Parsley, and uncles, Clarence Brown, Edward Brown, Fred Brown and Cecil Brown. Born August 26, 1935 to Jenni Beatrice Brown and James Edward Washington Sr., in Hollywood, FL, he moved as a child to Detroit, MI where he graduated from Northwestern High School in 1953. From 1953 to 1956 he was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp and was honorable discharged. He graduated from Columbia University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1964. He was a trusted financial advisor and insurance professional for over 40 years and was a Life and Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, in edition James donated much of his time to non-profit organizations including serving on the Boards of Saint Colletta’s Home for Disabled Children, the nonprofit Financial Center, Grand Boulevard Home Owners Assocation and numerous others. James was deeply loved and cherished and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Visitation and Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23 at Leak and Sons Funeral Home, 7838 S. Cottage Grove Ave., Chicago. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 1035 E. 67th St. For info 773-846-6567
