Lowell Edward Ryman, 63, of Marengo, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2005, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. Lowell spent 40 years in radio and television broadcasting at WGN-Channel 9 in Chicago. Born in Rockford, IL, Lowell spent his youth in Los Alamos, NM and graduated from Marengo High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Navy in Jacksonville, FL during the early 1960’s. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He is the father of Ren Ryman of Denver, CO, and Jeffrey Ryman of Scottsdale, AZ. He is survived by family members, Barbara Mulholl and of Rockford, Patricia Moore of Cherry Valley, William Ryman (Judie) of Marengo, Kay Halbmaier of Mead, NE, Karen Ryman of Aspen, CO and his special friend Lois Jean Coldewey of Des Plaines. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6821 Main Street, Union, IL 60180.
