I suppose this has been suggested many times before, but it seems to me that Kerry Wood should go to the bullpen and be the much-needed closer for the Cubs.

If John Smoltz could do it, it shouldn’t be any bigger challenge for Wood.

Throughout his history he has only been good for a few wins a year as a starting pitcher.

He could help the team a lot more if he became a closer with the kind of success that Smoltz had for Atlanta.
