Breaking the million-dollar barrier
The Women’s Leadership Exchange educational conference for women entrepreneurs takes place Tuesday in the Grand Ballroom at McCormick Place.
Keynote speakers at the event, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., are Judy George, founder and CEO of Domain Home Fashions, and Arianna Huffington, syndicated columnist and TV commentator.
The conference will focus on how to break the million-dollar mark, and it honors Suzanne de Passe, Harriet Michel and Gloria Steinem with awards. De Passe is CEO of de Passe Entertainment and former president of Motown Productions. Michel is president of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. Women’s rights activist Steinem, who helped found Ms. Magazine, is an author and remains involved in the causes of feminism. Sheila Brooks, founder, president and CEO of SRB Productions Inc., is master of ceremonies.
