How ironic that President Bush’s announcement repealing the roadless rule in national forests coincided with the news that the ivory-billed woodpecker, thought to be extinct as a result of logging, may actually be clinging to life in the remote parts of southern Arkansas. When will we start looking beyond tomorrow and consider the finite world we have a place worth saving?
