Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It may seem hard to believe, but MTV has been around so long that it has spanned two generations and is working on a third.

If you can relate to the seven statements below, you’re definitely a first-generation MTV kid:

– You remember when Vince Neil didn’t need remaking.

– The name Nina Blackwood conjures up the image of “cool rock chick” and not “infomercial saleswoman trying to sell me a `Best of the ’80s’ CD box set at 3 a.m.”

– You can’t get anyone to believe that the special program “Yo! MTV Raps!” was the only time you could see rap videos on MTV.

– At one time, you thought George Michael was straight.

– You remember the days when you could flip on MTV and actually see a music video.

– You tell tales of the long-ago times when there were no Simpson sisters whose lives were monitored for the general public’s viewing pleasure.

– You recall when Ozzy Osbourne was still coherent. Well, relatively.
