Blanche Speed Cameron of Lauderdale-by-theSea, FL, died May 26 in Everett, WA, following a fall and hip surgery while visiting her daughter in Mukilteo, WA. She was born to Ivo and Alice Buddeke in Chicago, IL, in 1924. Blanche was a graduate of Clark College, Iowa. Blanche wed Quintin Swallow Sykes in 1946 and had four children in Chicago: Quintin S. Sykes Jr., Gary Sykes, Sueanne Sluis and Stephen E. Sykes. Blanche moved to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in 1966 with husband Daniel Cameron, husband of 24 years. Surviving Blanche are her four children; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister Barbara Buddeke; and 22 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands, sisters Elizabeth Bentley and Alice Buddeke and brothers Charles and Ivo Buddeke.
