– Terrence McNally’s latest play is dedicated to the theater: “Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams” opens Aug. 18 and focuses on a couple who run a small theater in upstate New York.
– Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, fresh off “The Longest Yard,” are teaming up again–this time on a script Rock co-wrote called “The Gilmores of Beverly Hills,” about a low-income black family living in the star-spangled city. Sandler is to produce the film.
– Jay Leno’s motorcycle tour to raise money for tsunami relief has a stop planned at a Little Rock museum near the Clinton Presidential Library, which is a home base of sorts for the country’s most prominent tsunami relief effort.
– Slipknot hit the stage in Athens on Monday despite a request by Greece’s Orthodox Church to cancel the show because some of the band’s lyrics refer to the devil.
