Starting Sunday, Chicago’s three harness racing tracks–Balmoral Park, Maywood Park and Hawthorne Race Course–will spend three months playing musical sulkies. The unprecedented schedule will have Hawthorne racing on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday; Balmoral on Tuesday and Saturday; and Maywood on Thursday. Hitherto, sister tracks Balmoral and Maywood had divided the racing week, and they will resume that arrangement after Hawthorne ends its 48-night meeting on Aug. 26. Post time at the three tracks is 7:40 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6:30 p.m. at Hawthorne on Sundays.
