KIDS QUESTIONED: British police on Thursday were questioning two 11-year-olds arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder a 5-year-old boy. One of the victim’s relatives said the attackers tried to tie the boy to a tree by his neck.
MILITANTS RELEASED: Israel freed 398 jailed militants Thursday, fulfilling a months-old pledge that officials hope will bolster Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and his moderate allies.
JOURNALIST KILLED: A journalist and leading critic of Syria’s hold over Lebanon died in a car bombing in Lebanon on Thursday, and the opposition said it is blaming Syria.
