I have been breastfeeding my son since he was born in April 2004 and have enjoyed the company of many breastfeeding mothers and their babies in the last 14 months. The breastfeeding mothers I know are intelligent, concerned citizens. To say that we are “unlikely activists” (News, June 7) is absurd. Who better to advocate for the rights of mothers and the well-being of their children than informed, compassionate women?
