For those about to rock … well, we’ve got the Lollapalooza schedule for you. Organizers of the July 23-24 event in Grant Park’s Hutchinson Field released the full lineup and schedule Wednesday. So now you can plan your concertgoing weekend.
And for those of you making just one trip to the festival, single-day, $60 tickets went on sale Wednesday at lollapalooza.com.
One thing is clear from the schedule: There’s plenty of music to satisfy you alt-rock fans. The local music scene is nicely represented with sets from The Changes, OK Go, The Redwalls and The Ponys, though you’ll have to arrive pretty early to catch any of their sets. Chicago ex-pat Liz Phair also stops in Saturday.
Reunited bands from alt-rock’s heyday, Pixies and Dinosaur Jr., make appearances, as do best-selling headlining acts Weezer and The Killers.
What would Lollapalooza be without an appearance from founder Perry Farrell? The former Jane’s Addiction frontman debuts songs from The Satellite Party on Sunday.

Permission to rock
Lollapalooza needs to get five permits–liquor, street closure, merchandise, food and one to use park space–from the Park District and the city, said Michele Jones, a spokeswoman for the Park District. None of the five have been approved, but progress is being made on all of them, she said.
On Tuesday, Lollapalooza producer and talent booker Charles Attal said that even though permits are outstanding, the project has been greenlighted by the city and is going forward.
