Chicago: A cool start–especially away from the lake–but temperatures rebound thanks to the day’s generous sunshine. Some puffy cumulus clouds. NE winds freshen off the lake and hold lakeshore highs to the mid/upper 60s while readings west and south peak in the middle 70s. Clear and cool overnight. Lows in the upper 40s well inland.

HIGH: 72

LOW: 50

Note: Predicted high and low temperatures on the Tribune weather page are chronological–the “high” refers to the maximum reading expected during the day and the “low” is the minimum reading expected the following night.
