This is regarding Tribune White House correspondent Mark Silva’s column “Vocabulator in chief; Rhetorical twists in some of President Bush’s statements defy definition, the Tribune’s Mark Silva writes” (News, June 2).

I loved the column, but as a recently transplanted Texan, I was a little worried about his observation that “Sometimes it’s simply the Texas-bred tongue of the Ivy League-educated president that’s wagging.”

My great concern is that the rest of the United States will believe that all Texans are as inarticulate as Dubya.

I promise he’s not exemplary of the average Texan.

Will the next 3 1/2 years ever be over?
