It seems L.L. Cool J has a lot more than music on his plate these days. Cool, who took the stage for an opening-night performance Friday at Taste of Chicago, says he’s in talks with a “major” studio to form his own production company to give struggling young black filmmakers and actors a shot in Hollywood. The rapper-turned-actor is no Hollywood novice, with big films such as “S.W.A.T.” and “Any Given Sunday” already under his belt.
