– Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day is July 20. On that day, Ride to Work Inc., a nonprofit advocacy organization, asks that all owners of cycles and scooters ride them to work to illustrate the economic, efficient and enviromentally friendly aspects of those vehicles. – The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation and EarthSave Chicago hosting the second annual Veggie Bike and Dine, a 15-mile progressive dinner-style bike tour of four vegan-friendly restaurants. Check-in begins at 12:30 p.m. July 23 at the Green City Market in Lincoln Park. The ride begins at 1 and will visit Karyn’s Cooked, Lao Sze Chuan, May Street Cafe and Supreme Oasis. It ends at Handlebar Bar & Grill. Fees are $25 for members of EarthSave Chicago or the federation, $30 for non-members and $10 for children 13 and younger accompanied by a paid adult. – The Rock ‘n Rods on Route 66 Cycle and Car Show will take place Aug. 6-7 at the Festival Grounds at the Pontiac, Ill., 4H Park, off Interstate 55 at Ill. 23. The two-day show will include seven of Ed “Big Daddy” Roth’s cars, the Roadog motorcycle, vendors and concerts. Fee to register a car or motorcycle for the judged show is $19.
