Ellen C. Shackel, nee Sternberg, age 84, late of Evergreen Park, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005, cherished wife of the late Lester C. Shackel; dearest sister of the late Elvera L. Crosby and the late Ruth M. Shackel; loving stepmother of Greg, Paul (Vaneta) and Neal (Nancy) Shackel; beloved grandmother of eight; dearest great-grandmother of five; loving aunt of Gail, Darlene (Al) Drews and Lois (Mike) Kimball; former mother-in-law of Ursula. Lying in state Monday, July 25, 2005 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Service at 10:30 a.m. at the Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 4660 W. 94th St., Oak Lawn, with Rev. Daniel W. Gensch, Pastor officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Edgar Funeral Home, 10900 S. Cicero Ave., Oak Lawn.
