For extra turning power, slide a 2-foot-long pipe over the handle of a wrench to get that added leverage you sometimes need when trying to loosen a stubborn nut or fitting. My favorite wrench to use in this scenario would be a pipe wrench — just be sure to find a pipe wide enough to fit over the handle.
