Think baby shopping is all diapers and formula? Think again. Here are some products you won’t find in the Huggies aisle.

The Babyplane, created by French designer Nicolas Trub, gets baby’s food down the hatch in style. Fly peas in a teaspoon covered with plastic airplane wings, which come in blue and pink. $10. Available at the MCA Store, 220 E. Chicago Ave., 312-397-4000.

German doll company Kathe Kruse dreamed up this doll with minimal facial features, a blanket-soft cloth body and wooden gripping ring. The design is inspired by the Waldorf education movement, which encourages kids to use their imaginations from an early age (it’s said that babies can identify with the doll’s simple face). $13.50. Available at Wild Child, 612 Davis St., Evanston, 847-475-6225.

If Mom and Dad can have flake-free lips, so should baby. Baby Lip Balm from the Kiehl’s Baby line is a slightly smaller version of the adult original–perfect for little pouts. Made with avocado oil, it’s also fit to soften noses and cheeks. $7.50. Available at www.kiehls.com.
