In England police follow a suspected terrorist, confront him and then mistakenly shoot him in the head. He is found to not be a terrorist and the shooting was done in error. Police admit error and express sorrow over entire incident. Case closed. An unfortunate accident.

In Iraq an American soldier confronts a suspected terrorist, mistakenly shoots him and then is charged with murder. This is happening to too many of our troops and I am sick of it happening again and again. Let’s face the fact that when you are at war, accidents happen. And they wonder why recruitment goals are not being met.
