With the closing of the lakefront pedestrian crosswalk at Queen’s Landing (“Why would the pedestrian cross Lake Shore Drive?” Page 1, July 14), how many tourists will now be tempted to forego the half-mile roundtrip walk to cross at Jackson or Balbo and risk their lives and limbs by running across eight lanes of Lake Shore Drive traffic?

The city should restore the Queen’s Landing crosswalk before tragedy strikes our lakefront.
