This is regarding “Atkins goes belly-up as diet fad thins out; Competition, backlash bring on Chapter 11” (Page 1, Aug. 2). A plan that has been around for 30-plus years is hardly a fad. The plan is not based on Canadian bacon and cheeseburgers and never purports to be effortless.
Bob Goldin’s quote in the story, that “this was an easy diet,” indicates he never took the time to research it and is a poor choice as an industry source.
