Your challenge of finding restaurants that would satiate both a vegan and a meat-eater was clever and fair-minded (“Meat vs. veg,” At Play section, Aug. 11). While meat-eaters too often unyieldingly cling to their set dietary ways, we vegans can lean toward fanaticism when we fret obsessively over minuscule ingredients and the like.
Vegetarian fare has come a long way in terms of sheer tastiness, and it can be a great tool to reduce animal suffering.
Your article proves that, when approached with an open mind (and mouth), vegetarian food can be enjoyed heartily by those of differing gastronomical backgrounds.
