Whether or not our cars sport a yellow “support our troops” ribbon, we all do support them and want them to succeed, even if we might think it was imprudent to invade Iraq. But if we really mean that, then we should make sure that we send sufficient troops to Iraq to actually give success a chance. We have yet to do that.
It therefore appears to me that the only person in this country who is not actually supporting the troops is the one person who has the power to actually do something. We need more than posturing and empty rhetoric.
