1. Bowling Green at Wisconsin
11 a.m., ESPN
When the Badgers scheduled this one, they could not have known what they’d be in for. Bowling Green features the Mid-American Conference’s reigning offensive player of the year in quarterback Omar Jacobs, who threw 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions in 2004.
2. Northern Illinois at Michigan
2:30, WLS-Ch. 7
It could be a long day for the Huskies’ defense, which is young and can’t replicate covering Steve Breaston in practice.
3. Boise State at Georgia
4:30 p.m., ESPN
It will be a statement game for the Broncos, who were shut out of the BCS bowl party last season despite going 11-0. Boise State has the nation’s third-best record (54-9) since 2000, but three of those losses came against SEC teams.
4. Southern California at Hawaii
6 p.m., ESPN2
The Rainbows gave up 70 points to Fresno State last season, so Matt Leinart & Co. could put up an NBA-worthy tally in this one.
5. Notre Dame at Pittsburgh
7 p.m., WLS-Ch. 7
Gerry Faust won his first game at Notre Dame, as did Bob Davie and Ty Willingham. Lou Holtz lost his. How badly do you want this “W,” Charlie Weis?
6. Miami at Florida State
Monday, 7 p.m., WLS-Ch. 7
Good news for Florida State: Hurricanes speedster Devin Hester has been slowed by turf toe and a sore hamstring. Bad news for FSU: Hester still plans to play.
