Rapper and Chicago native Common is lending a hip-hop hand to Hurricane Katrina victims.
On Friday, Common will be the host for a special screening of his new video, “Testify,” from 7 to 9 p.m. at Inner City Entertainment/Chatham 14 Theaters, 210 W. 87th St. Admission is $10, and all proceeds will be donated to Hurricane Katrina survivors who are being relocated to the Chicago area.
“This is an incredible opportunity for people in Chicago to make a contribution to the relief effort at the local level,” Common said in a statement released by event organizers.
