EVENT OF THE WEEK
Global connectivity’s impact
TiECON Midwest 2005, a daylong conference on entrepreneurship, business and innovation entitled, “Entrepreneurship in a Flat World,” will explore global connectivity and how it’s leveling the playing field for business innovation.
The conference theme is based on the book, “The World is Flat,” by New York Times foreign affairs correspondent Thomas Friedman.
Guest speakers include Ed Zander, CEO of Motorola, and Dipak Jain, dean of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
The conference is targeted toward entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, business schools, law firms, public relations professionals and others.
Topics to be covered include choosing the right business model, analyzing markets, social entrepreneurship and evaluating emerging technologies.
The event will take place Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Wacker Drive. It is sponsored by TiE Midwest, a non-profit international network of entrepreneurs and professionals.
