The Off-Broadway hit “Alter Boyz” is eyeing Chicago theaters for a local production early next year. . . . Show changes are afoot at the Royal George Cabaret Theatre, the Mercury Theatre and the Apollo Theatre. . . . Congo Square Theatre Company has extended its production of “Deep Azure” through Oct. 16. Students can see the well-received show for $12.50. . . . “All My Sons” at the Actors Workshop Theatre will be closing Saturday. . . . Griffin Theatre is touring its production of “There’s a Boy in the Girls Bathroom” nationally. Stops include Arlington Heights Oct. 17-23. . . . “The Awesome ’80s Prom” has postponed its first preview until Nov. 3. The show will be performed at the new nighterie RadioStar , 901 W. Weed St., formerly the home of the now-shuttered Circus. . . . Emerald City Theatre Company and the Chicago Public Library are teaming up this fall on a new children’s literacy program built around the children’s book “Stellaluna.” Author Janell Cannon will appear for a free reading of her award-winning books at 10 a.m. Oct. 8 at the Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St. . . . And after nine years in marketing, administrator Sherman Shoemaker has left the Lifeline Theater.
