Being born, raised and having lived most of my life on the South Side of Chicago and in the south suburbs, I realize that Chicago is a Cubs town. But when 8,000 more people go see the sorry, losing Cubs than the historic White Sox in a fight for their playoff lives on Sunday, I now realize Chicago sport fans are simply pathetic.
Chicago does not deserve a pennant race; an inspirational, fun manager; nor a team with guts and heart. Chicago deserves the Cubs–the cute, cuddly losers.
What a gift to America it would be to cheer for the AL Central champion New Orleans White Sox.
