Clara W. Glabe, 95, of Evanston, born and raised on Chicago’s Northwest Side, longtime resident of Edison Park and Norwood Park, beloved mother of Lynne Mueller, Jack (Marla Friedman) Glabe and Dave (Gina) Glabe; proud grandmother of Brian Glabe. Clara was a member of the Prairie Club for over 50 yeras. She began running races at age 71 and was a 5K runner into her 80’s. Among her many volunteer services she was a docent at the Chicago Public Library’s Harold Washington Library and a charter member of the Friends of Roden Library, Norwood Park. After volunteering for 23 years at Lutheran General Hospital, she became a life member of the Lutheran General Service League. Clara traveled worldwide from Russia to Mexico, Alaska and Africa. She loved to learn and loved Chicago, her city. Visitation Wednesday 4 to 9 p.m. at N.H. Scott & Hebblethwaite Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd., Glenview (2 blks South of Lake Ave. on west side), where Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment St. Luke.
