Ruth E. Gwinn, at the wonderful age of 87, passed away Oct. 4, 2005 in Evanston, IL. Wife of the late Rodney Gwinn, M.D.; mother of Judith Gwinn (Jerry) Adrian, Nancy Gwinn (Tom) Nee and John Randall Gwinn; grandmother of Della Payson (Steve) Valenzuela, Nathan Denver (Molly) Adrian, Ben Howard Payson, Carolina Elaine Gwinn and Sarah Christine Custer. Mrs. Gwinn was born in St. Paul, MN and lived in Wilmette and Golf, IL from 1953 – 1980. In 1988 she moved back to Wilmette from Florida. She was active in the Wilmette-Kenilworth Club and the North Shore Associates and served terms as president in both clubs. She was also active in the Women’s Club of Wilmette, the Wilmette Garden Club, Northwestern University Guild and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega as well as several local painting groups. She earned degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. A memorial celebration of Ruth’s life will be held Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, 1 to 2:30 p.m. at One Calvin Circle, Presbyterian Home, Evanston, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at the Presbyterian Home. Burial was held in Seattle, WA. Arrangements by Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, 847-251-8200.
