– “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” the stealth success story of the 2004-05 New York theater season, is coming to Chicago. Beginning this March, Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place will host the comic musical in an open-ended engagement. The show is part of the Broadway in Chicago 2006 season series.
– Ciara will have a fightin’ chance to bring home the most Vibe Awards at this year’s hip-hop and R&B awards show. She leads the field with five nominations, including artist of the year. In addition to Ciara, nominees for artist of the year are Kanye West, Mariah Carey, John Legend and 50 Cent, who each have four nominations.
– Estee Lauder spokesmodel Elizabeth Hurley is scheduled to appear at the State Street Marshall Field’s on Oct. 20 for a check presentation to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The presentation will take place at noon in the cosmetics department.
