Charlize Theron had a weekend wedding, but it wasn’t her own.
Paparazzi and even helicopter camera crews raced to Malibu, Calif., on Sunday when they got wind of a secret wedding ceremony for Theron and boyfriend Stuart Townsend.
Oops. Turns out the wedding was for Theron’s mom, Gerda, “Access Hollywood” reports.
“I understand that people might have thought [me and Stuart] were trying to be sneaky,” Charlize told “Access” at the premiere for her new movie, “North Country.”
Theron said the bad thing wasn’t that paparazzi showed up, but that they didn’t leave even when they realized it wasn’t her wedding. “That was kind of rude and wrong, but it still was a very magical day,” she said.
