Letter writer Brad Bradford notes in his Oct. 3 letter that “World War II came and went in a little over 44 months, but the war on terrorism began more than 48 months ago.”

I believe a more pertinent statistic is the number of casualties in that timeframe.

Even more pertinent is that both wars involved the freedom of future generations.
